Budget Import Enhancements

In New World ERP Financial Management, users have long been able to utilize biennial budgeting and forecasting functionality. In previous releases, however, columns for biennial budgeting and forecasting data are not included in the budget import.

In the current release, the Budget Import has been enhanced to show both biennial budget amounts (years one and two) and up to 30 years of forecasting amounts.

Note: Biennial budgeting and forecasting functionality are both enabled via controls on the Annual Budget Settings tab in Company FM Settings. To view the applicable settings, click here.

The following sample budget import XML shows 30 years of forecasting information (highlighted in yellow):

In regard to Biennial budgeting information, notice the budgetYear2 and budgetAmount fields highlighted in the screen shot below:

When an organization uses biennial budgeting, the budgetAmount field, which is not new, is the Year 1 amount, and the budgetYear2 field, which is new, is the Year 2 amount.

These two fields populate with the values entered in the Budget Accounts page. For example, in the screen shot below, notice the 2020 Department and 2021 Department columns. These represent the biennial budget years one and two respectively. The budgetAmount field in the budget import corresponds with the 2020 Department column (year one) amount, and the budgetYear2 field corresponds with the 2021 Department column (year two) amount.

Also new to the budget import are the applyToYear1 and applyToYear2 fields. These fields correspond to the year columns on the Budget Transaction List page (e.g., the 2020 and 2021 columns in the screen shot below). For a given table item, if the applyToYear1 or applyToYear2 field is true, then the corresponding column check box will be selected. If an applyToYear1 or applyToYear2 field is false, then the corresponding column check box will be cleared.
